David has been the owner and chief engineer at
heartbeatstudio
since it was opened in 1982. He has been a professional musician since 1974
playing in various bands as a lead singer/piano/guitarist/bass, Dillinger signed
to Pennyfarthing Records, RAF signed to Warner Brothers Los Angeles and A&M
Records Los Angeles. As a solo artist David was also signed to A&M Records.
RAF,
David's own band which he managed/produced/composed/preformed with has released
3 albums recording all over the world including Air Studios London, Cherokee
Los Angeles and Abbey Road Studios London, and various singles including the
1986 official single for the Edinburgh Commonwealth Games. Performing with RAF
and as a solo artist David has been support to Chris De Burgh, Daniel Boone and
various live performances on BBC1 and BBC Radio1.
Writing music has been a major part of David's musical career and he has had major UK success writing for commericial contracts including Yorkshire Building Society, BBC, British Airways, Radio Forth and various other companies around the UK. For many years David has been the premier piano player/singer in and around Edinburgh with a 7 year residency in Ryan's Piano Bar in Edinburgh's bustling West End, also doing guest performances in most of Scotland's top hotels including Gleneagles Golf & Country Club Hotel Perthshire, Cameron House Hotel Loch Lomond, Balmoral Hotel Edinburgh.
David is also a qualified Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist working freelance with Hearts Football Club for 7 years. Previously a professional sprinter winning the Powderhall Sprint.

Over the last 10 years Ed has been assistant engineer at heartbeatstudio specialising in technical support and creativity of producing songwriters ideas to a finished CD. Over the years Ed has worked with various artists including Gerard Kenny, Colin Chishom, Kenny Herbert, Tam White and local bands/artists and was the first to record Susan Boyle! Having gained years of knowledge on Steinberg Music Software, Ed looks after the computing side of the studio and makes terrible coffee, so bring your own!
Ed has played keyboards in pubs, clubs and hotels for 20 years, and has had involvement in theatre productions in Edinburgh's Kings Theatre, Churchill Theatre and Lycemn Theatre. He also obtained HND Modern Muscianship specialising in music production. While working in heartbeatstudio Ed has played and even sung on numerous projects.
Unlike the healthy David, Ed has never been sporty but other interests include going to the pub and internet researching.
